● Workshop · Bike servicing · Brighton
We keep Brighton rolling.
Bike servicing and repair in Brighton, in a full workshop inside the clubhouse and run by mechanics who race what they wrench. Book it in, drop it off, have a coffee at The Hub while we work, and pick up a bike that shifts and stops like it should.
01 / The workshop
Mechanics who race what they wrench.
A full workshop inside the clubhouse, from a quick fix to a complete rebuild. Our mechanics ride and race the same roads you do, so they know what a bike needs to survive a Sussex winter and a fast Sunday. Whatever the job, it is sorted in-house, not sent away.
● Service check
A full service, right around the bike.
Our mechanics work through the whole bike, from the drivetrain to the brakes, and tell you what they find before anything extra gets done. Tap a part to see what we check.
Tap a point on the bike
01 / Service check
Drivetrain
Chain, cassette and derailleurs cleaned, checked for wear and indexed so every shift lands first time.
02 / Service check
Cassette and chain wear
We measure chain stretch and cassette wear so you replace parts before they chew through the chainrings too.
03 / Service check
Crank and bottom bracket
Cranks torqued to spec and the bottom bracket bearings checked for play and grinding, the creak you have been ignoring.
04 / Service check
Brakes
Hydraulic disc brakes bled, pads checked and callipers aligned so there is no rub and the bite stays sharp.
05 / Service check
Brake rotors
Rotors checked for trueness and wear and cleaned up, so braking is quiet and consistent in the wet.
06 / Service check
Wheels and tyres
Wheels trued, spoke tension balanced and hubs checked, with tyres and pressures set for how and where you ride.
07 / Service check
Handlebars and cockpit
Bar and stem bolts torqued correctly, tape sorted and the front end aligned so everything is safe and solid.
08 / Service check
Saddle and seatpost
Seatpost greased or carbon pasted and torqued, saddle checked and your height marked so it goes back exactly right.
- A full in-house workshop, not a bench in the back
- Quick fixes, full services and ground-up rebuilds
- Mechanics who ride and race what they work on
- Every job done here, nothing shipped off-site
02 / What a service covers
The whole bike, checked end to end.
A service works right around the bike, from the drivetrain to the brakes, so nothing gets missed. We clean and index the gears, bleed and align the brakes, true the wheels, check the bottom bracket for the creak you have been ignoring, and torque the cockpit so the front end feels solid again.
- Drivetrain: chain, cassette and derailleurs cleaned, checked for wear and indexed
- Brakes: hydraulic bleeds, pads, rotors and callipers set true
- Wheels and tyres: trued, tensioned and set for how you ride
- Bottom bracket, cranks and bearings checked for play and wear
- Cockpit, saddle and seatpost torqued and set right
03 / Three levels
Pay for what the bike needs.
Servicing comes in three levels, so a tired commuter and a race bike are not treated the same. We look the bike over, tell you what needs doing now and what can safely wait, and only do the work you agree to. No upsell, no surprises, just honest advice from someone who would want the same.
- Three service levels, from a safety check to a full strip and rebuild
- Honest advice on what needs doing now and what can wait
- A clear quote before any work starts
- Only pay for what your bike actually needs
04 / E-bikes and race prep
From e-bikes to pre-race checks.
We service e-bikes as well as road, gravel and TT bikes, so the whole household's fleet has one place to go. Got a race or a big event coming up? Book a pre-race check and we will go through the bike so nothing lets you down on the day. For smaller jobs, ask about a while-you-wait fix over a coffee at The Hub.
- E-bike servicing alongside road, gravel and TT
- Pre-race and pre-event checks so the bike is race-ready
- While-you-wait fixes for smaller jobs, over a coffee

● Good to know
Servicing, answered.
Is there a bike mechanic in Brighton?
Yes. PowerWatts has a full workshop inside the clubhouse on Edward Street, run by mechanics who race what they wrench. It covers everything from quick fixes to complete rebuilds, including gears, brakes, hydraulic bleeds, wheels and bottom brackets, for road, gravel, TT and e-bikes.
What does a bike service include?
A service works right around the bike. We clean, check and index the drivetrain, bleed and align the brakes, true the wheels, check the bottom bracket and bearings, and torque the cockpit, saddle and seatpost. Servicing comes in three levels, so you only pay for what your bike needs, and we tell you what needs doing now and what can wait.
How often should I service my bike?
As a rough guide, a full service once a year suits most regular riders, with a mid-season check if you are riding hard or through the winter. High mileage, wet roads and off-road use all wear parts faster. Bring the bike in and we will give you honest advice on what it actually needs rather than a fixed schedule.
Do you service e-bikes?
Yes. We service e-bikes alongside road, gravel and TT bikes, so the whole household's fleet has one workshop to go to. Get in touch with the make and model and we will book it in.
Do you do while-you-wait fixes or pre-race checks?
Yes. Smaller jobs can often be done while you wait, so ask when you get in touch and grab a coffee at The Hub while we work. Before a race or a big event, book a pre-race check and we will go through the whole bike so nothing lets you down on the day.
How do I book a service and how much does it cost?
You can book a workshop appointment online through Mindbody on this page; choose the Bike Mechanic service and pick a time that suits. If you are not sure what the bike needs, get in touch instead and we will look it over and give you a quote first. The cost depends on the level of service and any parts, and our mechanics will always tell you what needs doing now and what can wait.
