● Strength & Conditioning · Built for riders
Stronger on the bike. Harder to break.
Strength and conditioning for cyclists in Brighton, built for endurance athletes rather than gym mirrors. Off-bike work that makes you faster on the bike and harder to break, whatever level you ride at, coached in small groups at your pace.
01 / The philosophy
Off the bike, so you're faster on it.
Strength and conditioning here has one job: to make you faster on the bike and harder to break. No mirrors, no machismo, just the lower-body power, mobility and stability that hold up deep into a long ride. It sits alongside your coached studio sessions, so the strength you build off the bike shows up in the watts on it.
- Built for endurance athletes, not gym mirrors
- Strength that shows up in your watts and your durability
- Fewer niggles in the knees, hips and lower back
- Coached in small groups, at your level
02 / What we build
Three strands, one stronger rider.
Every week works across three strands, built steadily rather than chased hard. You do not need to be strong already; you need to turn up and start, and the load is set to suit you.
Strength
Lower-body power and the durability to hold it deep into a long ride.
Mobility
Hips, back and shoulders that let you hold position comfortably, on the bike and off it.
Core & stability
The platform every pedal stroke pushes against. Built steadily, week after week.
03 / Who it's for
Every level, every kind of rider.
Road riders, gravel riders, triathletes and anyone chasing more from their endurance. Complete beginners are welcome, and so are racers who want to stop losing power in the last hour. We meet you where you are and build from there.
- Cyclists, and endurance and triathlon athletes
- Every level, from first-timers to racers
- Off-bike work that carries straight onto the bike
- Small groups, proper coaching, your pace
04 / In your week
Wednesdays, and it pairs with everything.
In a typical week, strength and conditioning runs on Wednesday, so it slots neatly between your harder studio days. It pairs naturally with the coached sessions in the studio and with Pilates, the strength, mobility and core all pulling the same way. Times flex with the seasons, so the live timetable and booking are always online through Mindbody.

● Good to know
Strength work, answered.
Do you offer strength and conditioning for cyclists in Brighton?
Yes. PowerWatts runs off-bike strength and conditioning for cyclists in Brighton, built for endurance athletes rather than gym mirrors. It works across three strands: strength for lower-body power, mobility for the hips, back and shoulders, and core stability for every pedal stroke. In a typical week it runs on Wednesday, and it pairs naturally with the studio sessions and with Pilates. Book online through Mindbody.
What does a strength and conditioning session involve?
A session works across three strands: strength for lower-body power and durability, mobility for the hips, back and shoulders, and core and stability. It is coached in small groups at your level, off the bike, and built to carry straight onto it. No mirrors and no machismo, just the work that keeps you riding.
Do I need to be strong already?
No. You do not need to be strong already; you need to turn up and start. Complete beginners are welcome, the coaching meets you where you are, and the load is set to suit you. Strength is built steadily, week after week.
How often should I do strength and conditioning?
Once a week is enough to make a real difference, and in a normal week our sessions run on Wednesday. Riders training hard often pair it with their coached studio sessions and with Pilates across the week. Consistency matters more than heroics; steady weeks beat the occasional hard one.
Does strength and conditioning actually help my cycling?
Yes. Off-bike strength gives you more lower-body power and the durability to hold it deep into a long ride, while mobility and core stability keep your position comfortable and your pedal stroke smooth. Most riders also find it settles nagging knee, hip and lower-back niggles. You should see it in your watts and feel it on the road.
How do I book, and is it included?
Strength and conditioning is booked online through Mindbody, on the same class timetable as the studio sessions and Pilates. Pick a Wednesday slot that suits and book your place. Membership and class options are shown when you book.
